おはようございます from Japan!
For today’s blog post, I’m going to share about my first experience at Hair Salon NALU and 76CAFE located at Omotesando, Tokyo!
To start off, here’s a photo of one of their popular desserts! It’s so cute!
.. and I indeed had a good stay!
Post-salon treatment #OOTD with this clever Sukajan / souvenir jacket that will be available soon at Japan Lover Me Store!
Guys, it’s HACHIKO! :)) Angry Hachiko + Shibuya Map, haha!
I went there last Thursday and it was raining in the morning. I was so hungry so I had a quick breakfast at Mcdonald’s first!
It was also my first time to see the Spring version of the Takeshita Dori banner!
First time to order this set!
After stuffing myself with much-needed energy, I went to NALU hair salon.
It wasn’t that hard to find because the area was already familiar.
Number76 was born in Tokyo, Japan back in 2001. Founder Daisuke Hamaguchi established the hair salon with the concept of a style shop, where customers can casually change hair designs just like how one changes fashion items. Soon after, 76CAFE was also introduced in the same location. It is a unique concept with the basement and ground floor being a cafe, and the floor above a hair salon.
In 2012, he decided to make Malaysia his next destination to share his philosophy and techniques to both customers and talented young stylists. With incredible support from the local trendsetters, Number76 soon grew to four branches in Kuala Lumpur and most recently celebrated the launch of its first branch in Singapore. The name Number76 was originally conceived from NALU.In the Japanese language, 7 (seven) is pronounced as “nana” while 6 (six) as “roku”. When abbreviated, “nana” and “roku” merged together as NALU, hence Number76 Hair Salon.
Trivia: I’ve NEVER tried a hair salon in Tokyo.
Since I live in Saitama, I’d usually just go to the nearby hair salon to have my hair trimmed (like a dog who gets groomed lololol sorry for the bad reference :)) ). During the recent years, I haven’t done any drastic coloring / “hair makeover” (just a haircut that lessens the volume of my super thick hair) because I find it hard now to have time for monthly / bi-monthly maintenance. Before though.. during my “Rainbowholic baby days”.. I went blonde to almost rainbow hair :)) Now, I just really prefer my natural black hair since almost 8 out of 10 people would tell me that black suits me the best + I’ve become lazy when it comes to my hair (too many things to worry about and no more space for hair maintenance huhu).
.. and this is why when I received an email from the NALU marketing team, I was really thrilled and excited for this one! Lazy Kaila no more, haha! I’ve been wanting to try a hair salon in Tokyo for years (I’ve been here in Japan for almost 5 years guys haha) so imagine my excitement when I got invited out of the blue (didn’t expect this coming, really haha).
Usually, I just have my own DIY hair treatment at home by letting the hair conditioner stay longer while I’m washing up.. or whenever I’d visit the onsen place (hotspring) in our area. AND FINALLYYY, some pampering session for a very stressed me. *_*
Here’s what it looks inside (just one side of the establishment) ~
They gave me this yummy fruit milkshake! Based on my memory, it’s strawberry + banana? I can’t remember exactly but it was good! I was actually craving a sweet drink after my Mcdonald’s breakfast haha.
I didn’t have a haircut that day (because I had it trimmed just a month ago) so I asked for a hair treatment instead. My hair is naturally wavy + thick + dry .. and it really needed some treatment love.
The stylists who assisted me were Yoshi-san & Eriko-san!
“Highly recommended for those who have dry & messy hair” :)) Perfect treatment, haha!!
Before & After!
The Ultrasonic Iron Treatment took only around an hour. It was so relaxing that I literally dozed off (hopefully, I didn’t snore lolol) when they were ironing / styling my hair already. I really like having massages and the scalp massage part was one of the best!! *_*
The stylists were so cheery & accommodating .. and they were so game when I was snapchatting & goofing around! I would rate my experience as 10/10!
Last week was really stressful and overwhelming for me because of work so this pampering session really brightened up my mood! 😀
After the treatment session ~
Photo time with the stylists!
If only my hair’s like this everyday.. :))
If you are planning to go to Tokyo soon and you want to try a Japanese hair salon (hashtag #japanbucketlist lol), I recommend NALU for those who are looking for English-speaking foreigners! For booking assistance in English, please email them at email@example.com!
Here’s a discount coupon too and you’re welcome! 😀 It will expire on May 29, 2016~!

It is a 5-minute walk from the A2 exit, Omotesando Station. From the exit, take a right turn at the traffic light in front. You will also see Ito Hospital. When you see a store called Flying Tiger Coperhagen on your left, turn left at the junction and then turn right at the upcoming junction in front. Continue walking and you will see Family Mart on your left, and you will soon see 76Café. Hair Salon NALU is located right above 76Café.
Lunch Time @ 76CAFÉ
After the hair session, I headed to 76Cafe located downstairs. Just in time for my perpetually hungry tummy, lol!
Such a cozy cafe!
I find the hair salon + cafe concept as a brilliant idea because whenever I’d go to hair salons before for long sessions, I’d usually get very hungry after the entire process. To those who won’t be just getting a haircut but who’ll be getting a haircut + hair color + treatment package.. the process would usually take almost 3-5 hours, depending on the amount of work to be done. Sometimes, almost half of the entire day. You may have shiny hair after, but you might also have a grumbling tummy too lolol. So this is why I think that hair salon + cafe duo concept is great one! Your hair is satisfied, your tummy is happy as well, and you have instagram-worthy photos after too. :))
(please rate my marketing skills after this post haha just kidding)
Mini art exhibit inside the cafe. Really love this vibe!
Now looking at these photos.. I’m getting hungry huhu
Omg, if you’re going to visit 76Cafe, you should try their CHEESE TACO RICE. SO YUMMY!!
I love taco rice a lot and omg, egg + cheese + taco rice… ;_;
… and when I thought I was already full, my tummy made space for this adorable ladybug cake. I had a hard time poking it and eventually eating it.. *_*
*kawaii lover struggles* lolol
Thank you for the delicious meal, 76Cafe! I’ll definitely be back, and with friends this time!
Cheese Taco Rice + Ladybug Cake = Enough Reasons To Go Back :))
