Hiroshima Day 1: Hiroshima Castle & Peace Memorial Museum 🏯

Hi everybody!

For today’s post, I just want to share these photos taken during our first day in Hiroshima.

I was super excited to travel around this prefecture because of three things: Hiroshima Castle, Itsukushima Shrine, and Okunoshima (Bunny Island)!

Simple kombini breakfast at our Hakata Airbnb.

Waiting for our morning bus

Bus stop cuteness

We had 2 stops before finally reaching Hiroshima City! When in Japan, try CREMIA icecream! It’s the milkiest!

Hiroshima is known for its unique take on okonomiyaki. Got our tummies fed at a restaurant inside JR Hiroshima station itself.

Our AIRBNB room for 2 nights was so nice! Click here for the airbnb listing.

Claim your airbnb credit here (3700 JPY?!) ~

Pro travel tip: When in Hiroshima City, get an airbnb that also allows free rental bikes for use. Much easier to go around! We were able to go to many places in one day because of our host’s bikes. 🙂

The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum should be included in your must-visit in Hiroshima.

Hiroshima Castle’s beauty is super recognizable from afar!

It was under construction so had to take photos from a certain angle to hide some obstructions, lol.

Don’t get fooled! Even though it looks old outside, the inside of the castle was really like a modern museum. You have to take the stairs to go around and endurance is needed lol

Simple kombini things

Once in a while, we do give ourselves a yummy treat.. haha.

This restaurant was recommended by our host and it was just the next building of the apartment we were staying at, haha!

Pocket-sized detergent for backpackers, haha. Thank God our airbnb was complete! They had a washing machine, yay~

We enjoyed sharing and trying new icecream flavor together~ haha

And this journal spread shall end this blog entry.

Thanks for reading, hope I was able to show you around the beautiful Hiroshima through my photos and videos! Watch out for the remaining blog entries and videos!

Love, カイラ
