Hello everybody! Hope you guys are having a Jolly Christmas so far with your loved ones!
For today's blog update, I want to share some of my thoughts / what happened during my unexpected #TokyoExtra guesting last Sunday.
I am still feeling quite euphoric after all the sudden blessings for me and my Kawaii Philippines family.
If somebody would ask me what was the biggest achievement I've had this 2015, I would definitely say that it was the Tokyo Extra episode. It's funny how me and my teammates would just joke around about "Kawaii PH" being yummy ~ and being approached after... "someday". Years later, someday is today.
"Balang araw, sila na rin lalapit sa atin pakonti-konti! Basta galingan na muna natin." (Someday, they will come and support us naturally. For now, let's do our best!)
And who would have thought that 2015 for Kawaii PH would end in such a promising way? Me too, I never really expected this coming! Maybe it's the universe's way of saying that our sincere kawaii movement also deserves this kind of recognition. Thank you Universe, supportive friends, believers, and everyone for making this possible!
Got to wear this confidence-boosting terno / butterfly sleeves bolero again! I first wore this during Kawaii in Manila 2.
When I was packing my stuff for Japan last time, for some reason.. it felt like I had to bring this with me. And last week was the reason!
It's amazing how things work out for you when you just believe that THERE will be great things for you! ;_;
So friends, DO BELIEVE and BE POSITIVE that you are bound for greatness!
Tokyo Extra team advised me to arrive in a holiday-themed outfit. Great thing that this terno bolero looks perfec with my favorite white dress!
Packing my stuff!
On my way to Akasaka. Many thanks to my sissie-in-law Mimi Claire for lending me her kawaii pink luggage!
Tokyo Extra had kindly provided me a hotel to stay for the night. I live far away (not in Tokyo) so they made arrangements for me. I really appreciate that kind gesture and I thought that it was really sweet of them. : )
I arrived at around 7:00 in the evening. I bought dinner from a nearby Lawson. Stayed inside the hotel and took a rest before the 10:30 PM call time.
Japanese hotel rooms are so tiny yet so convenient!
Practicing some of my lines. They gave me a guide (which I printed out) beforehand but I had to improvise everything else. : )
I used to be so afraid of public speaking (most hated subject in highschool) but you could say that it really takes time to gain such confidence.
I loved doing more of the "background work" (make powerpoint presentations, direct, lead, etc.) but being the team leader of Kawaii PH forced me (in a good way) to want to become a better public speaker / representative. I still have my insecurities (especially about expressing myself in English) but I am working on that! : ) *GO KAILA!!*
Bought my favorite biscuits so that I wouldn't feel sleepy during the shoot. The live show would start at midnight time.. and usually it's bedtime for Kaila haha sooo.. there should be sugar embedded in my system :))
AND YAY FOR LAWSON GYUDON!! 7-eleven gyudon is still better though haha
Let's do this, GIRL!!! FORGET ABOUT YOUR SHYNESS! - Kaila to Kaila
What a lovely treat! Saw some pretty illumination when I was walking towards the TBS building.
FINALLY HERE! OMG *DOKI DOKI*
Kaila's script ~
I would like to commend / acknowledge the efforts of the entire Tokyo Extra production! Seriously, when I was there.. I was just AWESTRUCK and was so amazed by how they would do their "magic"! It was already past midnight ... yet they were all so welcoming, cheerful, and genki! They were so accommodating, supportive and professional! I really admire everyone!
Being part of the media / production team must be so tiring everyday.. but to be able to produce such an amazing show, all the hard work = WORTH IT ALL!
Before coming to Japan / Tokyo, make sure you have a #TokyoExtra marathon on youtube first! So many great info / discoveries you will love. I am not being biased but really, I got to learn more about ramen, haneda airport, undiscovered spots because of this show. And I've already been living here for 5 years! *_* Superb job, Tokyo Extra writers / researchers / coordinators!
There were around 20/30 people involved in the #TokyoExtra episode that time. Not sure about the number.. but it's still amazing!
What a wonderful experience to witness the behind-the-scenes!
Kim Dao was the first guest of the show! She did a great job! ; )
And finally, we started the show! And here's archived version of the youtube live stream show:

After the show, everybody congratulated each other for the huge success! This wouldn't be possible if it were not for everyone's cheers / support / sacrifice (thanks for sacrificing your sleep guys hahaha).
