Surprise Kawaii Blog Award + Valentine’s Day with Leen and Totoro Cream Puffs at Inokashira Park

Hello everyone! Konbanwa from Japan! : )

Before I start this Totoro-heavy photospam blog entry, I would like to thank all my readers who have supported me right from the start.

I just learned that Rainbowholic won 2nd place in the “Kawaii Blog” portion of the SuperCuteKawaii.com Blog Awards (2014)! :O

Thank you to those who nominated / voted (didn’t even realize that there was a contest?), it means a lot when my hard work is being appreciated… ;_;

本当にありがとうございます、皆様!

Last Valentine’s Day, I had a date with my bestfriend, Leen!

If you’ve been a reader of my blog from 3/4 years ago, you would recognize Leen!

She was my classmate back in Bunka Institute of Language days and we went out a LOT together! She is currently a university student at Bunka!

Did you know that during my Nihongo struggling student days… I actually repeated an entire term / semester because I didn’t pass the qualifying exam?!

And when they assigned me to a new class / batch of classmates (newcomers?).. I met Leen there. And we instantly clicked.

And went to Harajuku 3 or 4 days later. Lolololol

And I would like to thank my slow-learner brain for allowing such a BIG blessing to happen. I cannot imagine surviving Japan Life without a bestfriend!

I’ve been wanting to visit this Cream Puff shop for so long (thanks to my friends Ashley and Laura for making me envious haha).. and I thought it would be best to visit it with my bestfriend.

Who says you can’t date your best girl friend during Valentine’s? :”)

It was actually quite easier to find (or was it because Leen was the navigator? Haha!).

I took the Odakyu Line from Shinjuku and then when I arrived at Shimo-kitazawa, I went to the “West Exit”. From there, Leen and I followed the google maps!

We went there at around 12PM / 1:00 PM. We were so SHOCKED when we didn’t see any line at all.

There’s a mini restaurant upstairs as well (sister company probably of the cream puff shop). We had our late lunch outside ~

Just like a perfect Valentine date! ^^

We thought that the actual menu offerings wouldn’t taste that good (because the main offerings are the cream puffs).. but we thought wrong.

It was sooooo goood! I really miss this tomato spaghetti! I highly recommend this one!!

Our First Time at Inokashira Park, Kichijoji

“An oasis in the city, Inokashira Park welcomes visitors to unwind or to do any activities they like such as walking, jogging, reading books on the benches and having picnics. There are also other attractions within the park’s premises, including Inokashira Park Zoo, where visitors can see various animals, and Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, which has been visited by many fans ever since it opened. After taking a leisurely walk in the park, visitors can also enjoy shopping and dining in unique yokocho alleys and the shopping streets in front of the station. With convenient access from Shinjuku and Shibuya, Kichijoji has been really popular with people of all ages because of its energetic yet natural, comfortable atmosphere.”

Since we felt so full after catching up, laughing, and eating yummy spaghetti all at the same time, we decided to eat our Cream Puffs at Inokashira Park instead.

From Shimo-kitazawa, we took the Keio Inokashira Line and got off at Kichijoji.

I wonder why I kept going to Ueno Park.. when Inokashira Park is much more beautiful?! *_*

It’s so peaceful and such a heaven for nature lovers!! .. or just lovers lol.

It was one of the moments that I truly missed a lot.

Sitting down on a bench, chatting with a friend.. talking about life with a friend who TRULY understands you.

We’ve been so busy in our own lives and reunions such as this.. of course, shouldn’t be taken for granted. : )

I just wanna say that Rainbowholic and all of my other gigs, etc.. wouldn’t go this far if it weren’t for my friends like Leen.

Even if we have some differences in terms of interests, we have the same amount of passion in what we do! Maybe if we did a thesis together.. it would be nominated as best thesis lololol.

Fashion World, get ready because my best friend Leen will parade soon, haha! : )

Love, Kaila
