[INGREDIENTS]

☆ Brownie Mix ☆

  • 252 grams dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
  • 2 sticks butter (room temperature)
  • 1 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup macadamia nuts (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup fruit filling (raisin, orange peel, lemon peel, cinnamon, allspice, brandy)

☆ Frosting ☆

  • 200 grams dark chocolate
  • 200 grams white chocolate
  • Powdered food coloring (red & green) - optional

[INSTRUCTIONS]

☆ Brownie Mix ☆

  1. Preheat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius.
  2. Prepare a rectangular baking pan, either with parchment paper or by greasing it.
  3. Carefully melt 196 grams of the chocolate over a water bath and let it cool a bit. Chop the remaining chocolate coarsely.
  4. Using an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugar until fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs and the yolk one at a time, mixing well between each addition. Stir the melted chocolate into the batter.
  6. In a large bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa powder and stir into the batter until smooth, then add the chopped chocolate, nuts and fruit filling. Pour the batter in the baking pan and smooth it to an even layer.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes on the center rack of the oven. Using a toothpick, test the brownies a few minutes before the end of the baking time.
  8. Let it cool, then cut into pieces.

☆ Frosting ☆

  1. Separately melt the dark chocolate and white chocolate over a water bath.
  2. Use the powdered food colorings to color some of the white chocolate pink, green. Keep some white.
  3. Frost the brownie squares with a layer of dark chocolate. Drizzle stripes of white, pink and green chocolate over the dark chocolate, then drag a toothpick through to create a marbled pattern. Let the brownies harden in the fridge.

THE BROWNIES CAN BE STORED IN THE REFRIGERATOR FOR 5-6 DAYS. (*^_^*)/
