Kamakura’s Ajisai Gardens + Rainbowholic Shop Updates + Life Recently

Hi all!

Here’s my creative photo spam report of our Kamakura adventure last month. Many thanks to Yumiさん for helping me out with the videos and for all the inspiring conversations with you. :”)

Hope you guys enjoy the photo collages as much as I enjoyed making them. ^^

From Tokyo Station, it’s almost an hour away by JR Line (920 JPY for one way). For the directions using Google Maps, please click here.

Ride the JR Yokosuka Line bound for ZUSHI and get off at Kamakura station. You can explore the area by riding the buses or enjoy “Enoden”, their cute little train. Since this is a very touristy spot, there are many passengers riding this train.

I would recommend traveling to Kamakura during a weekday instead of a weekend. We went on a Friday and it was already super packed, what more if it was a weekend, omg lol ~

Before embarking on any adventure here, as a Japan travel fan, I would recommend that you visit the station’s tourist information booth as they have LOADS of free travel information especially in a place like Kamakura. We originally wanted to visit Meigetsu-in (Ajisai Temple) because of its famous ajisai pathway photo (for the love of #instagram lol). However, we thought it was located at Hasedera Temple since it’s also known for its blue & purple seas of Ajisai. Our target / main goal that day was to take a similar photo of that pathway but we had an interesting change of plans, as I have mentioned haha.

If you are planning to cover these two temples in one day during the next Ajisai season, I would suggest that you arrive earlier (maybe 10AM) and go straight to Meigetsu-in (Kita Kamakura) first to avoid the flock of local and foreign tourists. After that, have some quick lunch and ride the Enoden back at Kamakura station for Hasedera Temple. Upon entering the temple, go to the entrance and get a number and wait for your turn to queue. Don’t forget to hydrate yourself when exploring around Japan during summer! It was too hot that day, lolol.

Our Kawaii Tokyo E-book + Past Weekends + ABC Mag by Abbey 📔

Hi everyone!

Here is this week’s update & photo dump! Enjoy the photos!

Last night, we’ve finally released our first travel guide e-book project under the Our Kawaii Tokyo brand! It’s a creative guide / compilation of our favorite hangout places in Harajuku, Shibuya & Shinjuku. If you love the things that I visit or hoard (coughs stationery coughs), you will also enjoy exploring around Tokyo with this guide.

Ashley, Allie and I really worked hard on this one (2 years in the making or so, lol #nevergiveup). Allie did the entire layout & everything’s wonderfully done!

We had to change many pages along the way because some shops closed down & we wanted to give the reader a more user-friendly experience (putting ourselves in her/his shoes) so. We hope that you will also enjoy browsing our mini guide. We wish to create more themed travel guides in the future. ^^

The price right now for June 2017 is 1200 JPY. You can purchase it from Rainbowholic Shop. ^^

Illustrations / patterns by Allie. Photos by everybody 🙂

Hobonichi With Me Updates + Persistence & Consistency

Hi all!

Before I spam you guys with my Korea trip blog posts, here are some videos for Rainbowholic TV I’ve created during my mini blog hiatus.

I can’t believe it’s been over a year since I relaunched my youtube with journaling process videos! I remember how difficult it was before because I was just trying things out while experimenting different video editing / shooting styles. This trip to Chichibu for the kawaii poppy flowers was my first ever Hobonichi With Me video! I didn’t even consider shooting under natural light, lol.

A hundred videos later under the Hobonichi With Me category (video count right now: 111), here I am still enjoying the process of creating and sharing. It was hard to keep the consistency and there were some weeks I didn’t want to do anything (hashtag lazy lol) but reading comments about how my videos give relaxing vibes / inspiration for someone out there made me want more to produce & not become lazy. I also made a commitment with myself to upgrade my video editing styles and I’m so happy I’ve managed to graduate from iMovie already, haha! To be persistent on learning new things / improving your craft and being consistent during the process of everything.. those were my notes to myself since the start. : )

Anyway, more long paragraphs later on! Even though I’ve become so busy from Spring, I was able to ponder and realize a lot of things during this period. I feel like I’m evolving again like a pokemon lolol.
