Cannot believe that I am finally writing / drafting the last post for 9 Days Japan Backpacking Trip! It was such an adventure for us last year and so many memories / travel info that I wanted to share.
During our last full day in Kansai region, we went to Nara from Osaka. I’ve been visiting Kyoto for many times during my 8/9-year stay here in Japan but I never had the chance to take a day trip from Kyoto to Nara. So glad that I was able to cross that out from my #japanbucketlist, haha.
Took the train from Osaka to Nara.
Met one of the official mascots of Nara, lol.
To be honest, I was a little bit confused about the fact how “Sento-kun” (the one I am holding hands with in the photo lol) was approved as a character design haha. I was thinking if this actually angered some religious people lol.. but anyway, looks like it was OK-ed, haha!
As always, cannot just get out of the train station without searching for the stamps haha.
Thanks for visiting my blog! : ) I won’t be updating here as regularly as before as I’m focusing on sharing through patreon / other platforms right now (I am currently preparing for something very important that I cannot disclose at the moment) but I’m planning to at least share some blog-worthy moments of January. January is my birthday month which is automatically a special month for me, haha.
For 3 days, Aki & I traveled to 3 prefectures (unintentionally haha). Read the first part & 2nd part (with travel tips) over at patreon.
I remember feeling super overwhelmed by work that time. I didn’t have any choice because I had 2 trips this month (bday/holiday/anniv trip + attending a friends’ wedding/family time) and I wanted to really enjoy both trips so I worked extra hard in the other days. Thankfully, I’m still alive and kicking today.
Gifu & the cute Sarubobo charms everywhere.
It is so nice to forget all of your worries and problems in a day.
How are you guys?
Here is my Kyoto photo diary from the 9 Days Japan Backpacking Series. Hope you enjoy scrolling down below! 🙂
Ahhh Kyoto, I wanna visit you during autumn season too!
First things first–
Must visit the matcha kingdom UJI, Kyoto.
Rent a kimono and go around the city to take beautiful photos.
Look at all the souvenir items you wanted to bring home with you but you had to resist as you only have a backpack . . .
. . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . . . .
Before I tell you everything, shall we start from the beginning?
I’m back with an overdue blog entry from months ago. Here’s the continuation of our 9 days in Japan backpacking series! Once I’m done with this (almost halfway… go Kaila go!!), I will post our itinerary exclusively on patreon (for all tiers).
As I was editing the photos, I couldn’t help but smile and reminisce about these times during our backpacking trip. It was a rainy day for us but the weather didn’t stop us to visit one of the dreamiest places in Japan for me!
We stayed for a few days in Hiroshima. On our last day, we checked out early from our airbnb and put our backpacks inside a coin locker at JR Hiroshima station.
* How to go to Rabbit Island from JR Hiroshima Station *
Take the train bound to Hiro station. From Hiro, get the train going to Tadanoumi. Use Google Maps to find the port within the area. For the access guide, this link is helpful.
*some handpicked photos from the 100+ photos lol*
Friendly tip, buy rabbit food from the grocery (if you can) to save money. We bought this cabbage from a FamilyMart kombini adjacent to the Tadanoumi train station.
Enough of the teaser photos, let’s get started with some narration!
Starting the day right with morning journaling ~
