I’m back with an overdue blog entry from months ago. Here’s the continuation of our 9 days in Japan backpacking series! Once I’m done with this (almost halfway… go Kaila go!!), I will post our itinerary exclusively on patreon (for all tiers).
As I was editing the photos, I couldn’t help but smile and reminisce about these times during our backpacking trip. It was a rainy day for us but the weather didn’t stop us to visit one of the dreamiest places in Japan for me!
We stayed for a few days in Hiroshima. On our last day, we checked out early from our airbnb and put our backpacks inside a coin locker at JR Hiroshima station.
* How to go to Rabbit Island from JR Hiroshima Station *
Take the train bound to Hiro station. From Hiro, get the train going to Tadanoumi. Use Google Maps to find the port within the area. For the access guide, this link is helpful.
*some handpicked photos from the 100+ photos lol*
Friendly tip, buy rabbit food from the grocery (if you can) to save money. We bought this cabbage from a FamilyMart kombini adjacent to the Tadanoumi train station.
Enough of the teaser photos, let’s get started with some narration!
Starting the day right with morning journaling ~
For today’s post, I just want to share these photos taken during our first day in Hiroshima.
I was super excited to travel around this prefecture because of three things: Hiroshima Castle, Itsukushima Shrine, and Okunoshima (Bunny Island)!

Simple kombini breakfast at our Hakata Airbnb.
Waiting for our morning bus
Bus stop cuteness
We had 2 stops before finally reaching Hiroshima City! When in Japan, try CREMIA icecream! It’s the milkiest!
Hiroshima is known for its unique take on okonomiyaki. Got our tummies fed at a restaurant inside JR Hiroshima station itself.
To make way for the upcoming blog / youtube series, here are some teaser photos of what happened during the 9 Days Japan Backpacking adventure with Aki.
I have a train to catch in 15 minutes because I have work in another prefecture today so no captions for this post for now, haha. I’ve kept my instagram stories to those who are interested in our itinerary! Full details soon! 🙂

Thought I should try updating my blog using my phone.
If you’ve been following me or any of my social media accounts, you’d know that I’m currently on a trip to discover and explore new places here in Japan with Aki. So far, we’ve visited Nagasaki, Fukuoka, and Hiroshima.
I used to be the kind of traveler who would bring her house with her whenever she goes on a trip but after being with Aki, he has inspired me to bring only what I need for survival lol. Of course, I had a journaling pouch with me. ??
So many people sent me DM about how I pack my stuff for this trip! I’ll upload a pack with me / what’s in my travel backpack video, don’t worry lolol~
From Haneda airport, we flew to our first stop Nagasaki for about 2 hours! Upon arriving, we checked in at our cheap airbnb & left our backpacks to enjoy the Nagasaki Lantern Festival more comfortably. A rainy city welcomed us but it didn’t stop us from exploring the charming Nagasaki.
