How are you guys?
Here is my Kyoto photo diary from the 9 Days Japan Backpacking Series. Hope you enjoy scrolling down below! 🙂
Ahhh Kyoto, I wanna visit you during autumn season too!
First things first–
Must visit the matcha kingdom UJI, Kyoto.
Rent a kimono and go around the city to take beautiful photos.
Look at all the souvenir items you wanted to bring home with you but you had to resist as you only have a backpack . . .
. . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . . . .
Before I tell you everything, shall we start from the beginning?
Finally had some time to blog about this~! I’m so happy, yaaaay!
If you haven’t watched it yet, I uploaded this Hobonichi With Me video last week I think.
Hobonichi With Me | Tokyo Kimono Rental + Sakura x Starbucks Japan ? ?
If you are visiting Tokyo this sakura season and you’re interested in renting a kimono, I found a great kimono rental shop that you might want to check out. I discovered this on my own while asking google for help so.. to those who are wondering, this is not a sponsored post. Haha!
Before I write about my experience, let me share these photos of the matcha parfait from Denny’s before Lirei & I went on a kimono date.
okay let’s move on now lol
I booked through their website to reserve the day before. I’m not really sure if walk-in visits are allowed but I think that the shop gets really busy so it’s best to reserve online so you can get your preferred time.
My friend and I availed the Standard Kimono Plan and Standard Hairdo.
Standard Kimono Plan = 3500 -> 2900 (discounted)
Standard Hairdo = 900
All in all, Lirei & I just paid 3800 JPY each. What a reasonable price for an excellent service! I suggest that you also try getting your hair professionally done. : )
If you buy a kimono set and all, it costs a LOT so renting is always the more affordable option. 😉
(though I’d love to own my own kimono set one day, haha. gambarimasu lol)
Kyoto Kimono Rental Wargo Access Guide (Tokyo Sensoji Branch)
They also have photography services and other cool stuff so just roam around their website for more info 🙂
If you are going to Kyoto too, they have many kimono rental shops available. I haven’t tried their services in Kyoto yet though.
Here are just some recent life updates.
First of all, I got sick twice this month already because of the very moody cold weather. Please do pray that I won’t get sick anymore, huhu! I feel incomplete if I don’t upload enough youtube videos and getting sick does not help, yikes! Gambatte, self!
It’s been crazy these weeks and I’ve been juggling work, personal life, creative collabs all at the same time. Don’t know if it’s a good thing or not, huhu. Time.. where you at?! * cries * I have a greaaaat feeling I will hibernate and be an introvert after this month and just become an obaa-chan in Saitama. I haven’t been resting these past weekends too.. oops. >_<
Anyway, March is coming soon and I’m so excited because my dream to bring my parents here to see sakura / cherry blossoms / Mt. Fuji is about to come true! I can’t wait to tour Mami & Dadi ~
Okaay, I’ve typed too long already haha. Let’s finally start with the photo collages already, shall we?
I am so happy. Thanks <3 for all the gifts! These are great for my hobonichi videos, lolol!
Got to try the Sakura Blossom Cream Frappucino & Latte with friends! Both are yummy!
Random selfies + Sakura Raspberry Milk drink from Starbucks Japan
My ultimate favorites! Matcha icecream everyday, please.
Thank you Sponsor-san, lolol
Starting the week right with a blog update, yay! :))
To continue our quick Kansai trip last Spring, here are the photos during our last day in Kyoto. Also, here is Abbey’s blog entry about her Japan trip. <3
I can still remember how perfect that day was. I think that there was a divine intervention that happened, haha!
Imagine, it was our last day in Kansai (we had to leave later at night for our night bus). Abbey wasn’t feeling well during the earlier parts of our trip but her colds MAGICALLY disappeared that morning (meaning, yay, we could go to Kyoto!!)! When we arrived at the Osaka station, we almost gave up in searching for “empty” lockers but we found a place where we could store ours (also inside the BIG osaka station). We found a kimono rental shop within our first minutes in Kyoto (I was about to use the google map but our luck was overpouring that day, as you can tell). It didn’t rain and it was a perfect “Spring day” with cherry blossoms in FULL BLOOM all around the city. When I checked the weather, I found out that it was the last “ok day” for the cherry blossom trees in Kyoto because it heavenly rained the next day. *_*
Maybe we combined each other’s luck?? Haha!
Walking in kimono in Kyoto with one of your dearest friends = #friendshipgoals :))
Hobonichi Diaries + ABCxRainbowholic Trip
Thank you cherry blossoms for waiting for us!
Let’s start with the actual narration! Shall we?
