Rainbowholic Studio (So Far) + Youtube Updates

Hi guys!

After a long crazy week, I am finally having some me-time here at my place. It feels so good to blog again and just type away all these thoughts in my head! breathes in and out

As mentioned in my instagram posts earlier this month (and also blogged about it previously haha), I’ve finally gotten myself a studio / office.

I never expected that this day would come so soon. I knew that it would come true, but maybe not this year..? Haha. And yes, even if I’m like the most optimistic person out there, I still have those moments when I doubt my capabilities and all… tryin’ to be realistic. I hope that everything gets settled soon as it’s quite harder than I thought to set things up especially during this very cold winter season. I still don’t have internet at my studio and I hope to get one soon as it has been extra challenging for me to not edit & upload… wew.

Moving on…

To share some of my progress, here’s a messy desk photo! I’ve been filming some BTS during the entire setting up phase and I can’t wait to share them on my youtube! : )

Watch: First Rainbowholic Studio Vlog ♡ Empty Japanese Apartment Tour (アパートツアー)

Patreon-exclusive post: my first day reaction!

I reused my old stuff from my old apartment. My brother and Aki’s parents also donated some furniture / equipment for the studio. Aki was able to score this really good “extendable” dining table + chairs set from some app here in Japan. We only paid a few thousand yen for it!

My first breakfast at the studio during my first “work day” there. ;_;

#RainbowholicStudio: Not A Dream Anymore.

Hi all,

Sorry for the lack of updates during the second half of the year. phew

I had to give my maximum effort to make this goal a reality before 2018 ends.

Rainbowholic Studio is no longer a dream but a real space where I can freely create content, hold workshops / meet-ups, and fulfill orders for rainbowholic-shop.com.

I used to do everything in this small Japanese apartment… ;_; I was so inspired to work extra hard so that I can finally spend a happier self-care time here in my apato (apartment) without seeing “work” everywhere (packing supplies / boxes), lol.

It wasn’t easy and it was such an “uncomfortable” journey for me to pursue as I juggle many jobs ( teacher / entrepreneur / stationery store / custom kawaii tokyo tour guide ) but I’m so glad everything has fallen into place. ;_;

I had to set aside a good amount of money every month to be able to afford the “heavy” first month of payments. My savings made it just in time, lol!

More feelings here.

If you haven’t watched my #ThankYouPatrons / patreon journey video, please do! ^^

(Note lol: Couch / other displays not mine. This was when we were checking apartment options (it took a month!!)

From this… (stamping postcards at a kombini with my bestfriend ) ….

My Japanese Summer So Far + Life Updates 🎆

Hi everybody!

Happy Saturday from Japan (finally woo). Just sharing some photos taken last week!

Super happy with my chichified illustration!

To those who don’t know, I created a Kawaii Journaling FB group and we’re already 400+ members!

So happy with everyone’s contributions. I feel inspired to be more creative because of their posts!

The weather last weekend was being cooperative with us. Finally pushed through with our yukata date plans.

This year, I chose this hydrangeas / ajisai design. Last year, I was a walking pastel rainbow lol.

C H E E S E lol

Aki brought me here and I already forgot the place haha. We watched the fireworks with others at a park in Odaiba.

We brought our own mat and portable fan! I filmed videos and I’ll most likely share the clips in one compiled monthly vlog.

We love going to Round One for taiko / arcade games haha

New Beginnings + Let’s Create Together with Patreon!

Hi everybody!

I finally got to sit down and write down about what’s currently happening in my life.

If you’re following me on instagram / twitter, you would know that..

I’ve finally moved into my new apartment this month.

Maybe only God knows how much I’ve waited for this day happen. After 7 years of living here in Japan, dreaming that someday.. I would be able to afford the dream pad that I’ve been longing for.. here I am now.

It wasn’t easy to get myself from point zero to here. To get all the apartment things sorted out (lots of calls, thanks to Aki & my brother for the help), to save up for this (GIRRRRLLLLL!! it was cray haha), and to mentally prepare myself from moving out from my previous home.. oh my. What a crazy journey it was! And it was just a few months ago~!

2 years ago, I wrote this dream (again) on my hobonichi planner.

Someday, I will have my own (bachelorette) pad.

I actually wanted to become more independent since last year but because many things happened and I had to help my family back home (my father got cancer (results will be released in a few months!), I had to assist my family here for more emotional support, and so much more)… some things had to be taken aside for the meantime. But I did not forget that dream. Everyday, as I travel and commute to my workplace (either super far Saitama or Chiba), I would remind myself that “Just wait Kaila, hang in there. The right time will come.” Every single time I would go to JP bank to send half (sometimes more) of my salary / earnings for my Dad’s therapy / misc. expenses, I would tell myself.. “Things will get better, don’t give up! The universe will be more generous if you are generous too!“.

And the right time did come. When my bestfriend (Justin) and I were talking about his plans on moving back to Manila (this also made me very ;___; for many months huhu. He’s my BFF / best friends forver), we joked about me taking over his place. I don’t know if the Guy Up There planned this entire year for me (maybe He did plan & I really hustled) but it was just so amazing how everything finally went into place. It felt like all my sacrifices since last year are now in form of rewards! I moved into a fully-furnished apartment (spacious & just right for a content creator like me) and I just had to bring my old stuff here. I’m not super rich but now, I have enough money / capital / buffer for reinvestment / growing my current work. I’m growing slowly.. and no matter how slow it is, progress is progress.

If you want to see what it looks like as of now, I have an instagram highlight (@rainbowholic) filled with BTS videos of my moving in / fixing!
