Blur out the background!; Photoshop
This tutorial will teach you how to make your photos look like it was taken using an slr or any camera with macro mode on. Personally, I like my photos with a bit of blur and isolation. And I’m going to show you how you can do that through basic photoshop! : )
Note: CMD is COMMAND for mac. Use CTRL for windows.
Reference photo & the outcome
First, open the image on photoshop. In the layers window, duplicate the image by selecting it and CMD + J.
Choose the Lasso Tool from the toolbar.
Just outline around the object completely (the outline should be blinking after!).
Don’t draw around it too exactly or the outcome would look a bit off.

A Quick Look on Your cPanel; Website
After you’ve purchased your website from a hosting company, the package includes a cPanel (similar to control panel in any PC) usually. If your website is www.bla.com, your cPanel login page would be www.bla.com/cpanel.
At first glance, the whole interface looks sophisticated. From my experience, I just don’t mind the other stuff, though it would not hurt to experiment and discover by clicking and opening pages.
As shown below, I highlighted the important functions of cPanel for reference.
The File Manager and Legacy File Manager are your finder / folder windows. Personally, I choose Legacy File Manager over File Manager because it’s easier to control around. It works like a windows explorer / finder on your PC / Mac.
“Subdomains” is where you add your subdomain pages (which generates a folder for that name as well). It’s like www.photography.blabla.com.
FTP Accounts is where you setup additional ftp accounts besides from your main ftp account (same details with your cPanel login details). FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. An FTP program such as FireFTP addon extension from Mozilla Firefox makes uploading and life easier. I will write a separate tutorial on using FTP.
MySQL Databases is where you add / edit database users and of course, the databases. This sounds like a programming term but setting up databases is really easy by just ticking off all the chec boxes. If you plan on making a wordpress blog or a shopping website, a MySQL databases is always REQUIRED.
I will write more comprehensive tutorials on each of these. Stay tuned! : )
