Recording photoshop actions and batch processing; Photoshop

Need to resize and edit your 300+ photos in just a few minutes? Here’s a very helpful trick that I have been using for years whenever I would batch edit / process a set of photographs. Blame this trick for my photospam entries in my blog.

Recording Photoshop Actions

For this tutorial, I will be using an unedited Blythe photo.

First of all, open your image in photoshop.

Make sure that your actions window is open. If not, go to Window >> Actions.

This is an example of an Actions window.

For organization purposes, create a set with a name of your choice. Just pick a random name.

Masking; Photoshop

Every photomanipulator takes advantage of masking. If you want to delete a a background (without actually deleting it), masking is the solution.

For this tutorial, we will be using this pretty photo.

Since I want to make Sakura look like floating in the clouds, we’re going to use this cloud stock image I got from sxc.hu.

Ready your layers. The clouds should be on top of the Sakura photo.
