Working with layers; Photoshop

If you are able to maximize the use of layers, you can do many tricks that can save a lot of work time.

The concept of layers in photoshop is pretty simple. It is very much like making a clubhouse sandwich. The paper plate serves as the background color. The first bread is the first layer, and so on.

I was using CS3  here. CS4 or CS5 may have more features but I could still produce amazing stuff with CS3.

To prevent the workspace from looking like one, close all windows except for the Layers window. Most of the time, I just work with layers and toolbox alone. I hate clutter so I close all other unnecessary windows.

If you accidentally close the Layers window or you want to bring back other windows, you can always do so by going to the Window menu.
